Album: Heart of the matter

Peak of our mountains

I proudly present to you, an upcoming talent... The resolution of our youth and the front woman of the new love generation.. I'm talking about Nicole Bus, the winner of last years GPVN!!!!!

I had the priviledge to be a part of an historical moment in this century..
This young lady had given away more then just a album release party on the 14th of this month. She put on an astonished, well established but extremely professional performance.
The band ,she brought along, carried her voice and did her more then justice..

Although i knew she could sing, i got chills all over my arms starting from the first note.
I even catched myself staring with my mouth wide open LOL..

Her album - the heart of the matter- is an "easy going" album..
Each and every lyric has a particular meaning/message and i love it.

Go buy it!!! <3

European swagg

The music world has been strongly dominated by European DJ's, lately.
Music wise, The Netherlands earned a (fair) spot on the map with big names representing us like; Armin van Buren, Tiesto, Afro Jack and Dj Chuckie.

The mainstream is House and that is what we keep up seeing and hearing in new songs. It seems like y'all Americans can't get enough from it (LOL)
Head runners (for me) are artists like lovely Rihanna and the oh so gorgious Kelly Rowland.
Both of them did songs with a house twists but these two songs for me deserve a spot on my blog..

Rihanna is an house hold name and i love her. Her swag is amazing, very trendsetting and edgy. Her outfits screams "i don't give a f*ck" and she can't stop making these hits!
Her latest song - We Found Love - has been received with open arms and is already going up in the charts ( what else did we expect)
The vid for this song is very appropriate and comes to justice.

I love it, love the song and it's a defenit clubbanger.

Kelly Rowland is a role model to me..
Young, black, beautifull, smart and sooo amazing.
She can sing like no other and so seductive on a classy way.
Miss Rowland is well known when it comes to house music.
She made a few hits that had the house sound and i very much liked it.
This song (and vid) caught my eye this morning, so i thought it would be nice, sharing this with y'all..

Enjoy..

SLDRVS

Besides the fact that my girl is having a secret crush on 'm ( i wont place your name on the internet, LOL), this man is making major moves and i simply adore his "rap"swagg!
I'm talking about ADONIS (ikkebensickerthen)..

I was browsing on the internet ( S/O to 4shobangers.com) and i bumped into this new posted vid of Adonis.. I was instantly in love..

You'd be the judge ..

#occupy the world

Begin the month September, the people of New York witnessed a protest at Wallstreet, which was plunged in to the name #occupyWallstreet.
Now, what had to be a peacefull protest, clearly turned out to be a clash between the protestors and NYPD..
The police officers went hard on these people. Luckly for us, Youtube excists.

One particular vid drawed my attention though: a police officer sprayed pepperspray in the faces of 3 women who were cornerd ( and couldn't do anything, anyway), sudden walks away and leaving the 3 women dazzled on the floor..

Now, here in Amsterdam we do things differently #occupyAmsterdam
The Stocksquare ( beursplein) has been occupied by protestors to and i'm glad that this protest is going peacefully.
A lot of people gattered around the square and have been putting up tents.
There are activities planned for everyday and open assemblies for everyone.

Note:
#occupy is not a part of a organisation.
Everyone participates with other beliefs. What makes this protest strong is that the people are not just individuals anymore. They form a pact, a unity, an generation with positive beliefs..
So therefore i will participate as well, because my voice is needed

So for those who are standing in the rain right now, making music and shouting out at the police? A big shoutout to you...

Assignment : Video "tranen"
By Q-Jones
model: Amber

For info or questions, feel free to send me an email ..

#bundleofjoy

Last weekend was all about make-up, make-up, music and ...  make-up.
I had a few assignments and let me tell you ..  Rain or no rain? On every set the positive energy was more than present.

The first assignment i had was for the upcoming talent; Q-Jones.He is my longtime friend and i simply adore the fact that after 14 years we still hang out.
Besides his love for ink and soccer, he "secretly" developed this craving for music and decided -at one point- to turn this hobby into an music carreer. This saturday his first "official" video took place in his own neighbourhood. Although the weather was bad, he and his crew managed to finish the "shootings".

I took the liberty ( and his spare time) to do a quick interview, wich follows below:

LJ: What does music mean to you? Can you describe this feeling in three words?
QJ: Faith, Strength, Life
LJ: Which artist inspires you the most?
QJ: Drake and the Dutch rapper "Bollebof". These male artists don't rap about crappy #$%& or B&^%$# and money. There lyrics have a message, you could practice in life.
LJ: When did you decide to make music a serious part in your life?
QJ: I decided to make music a serious part of my life when i saw that it kept me of the streets. Further more, making music is such a great tool to express your feelings. I've been through alot and in this way i can devine myself. It also strenghtens me and the people who surround me.
LJ: Why did you choose to shoot this video?
QJ: The last couple of years i lost many friends. Some of them are depressed and i felt the pain that they where carrying. So i decided to write a song about these things. My message through this video is to never give up on life, no matter how hard it can be, somethimes.
LJ: What does the song mean (to you)?
QJ: Never give up on life and keep your friend base small because at the end of the day your all by yourself.
LJ: What more is there to come? Any projects, etc?
QJ: I'm about to start a mixtape just to show my fans that i'm around. I'm busy with new songs and videos that comes along. In 2012 i will perform in different places, more to be continued... ;)
LJ: What else would you like to share?
QJ: I just want to say that everything in this life is possible. Chase your dreams, do what you want to do but do it with your heart, so it will come to pass. Let God lead you in all your ways, pray for forgiveness everyday and be good to everybody. Even the negative people who also surround you and want to see you not succeed.

Adding to the interview:
The song is called tranen. The videorelease will be on wednesday..
For more of that visit my blog (LOL)

I wish you success and strength in this tuff bussiness! If u believe in this, you will succeed <3

Chico, Cali Baby!

My dear friend Osborne ,also known as OsB (to me LOL), deserves a spot on my blog this week.

He took a leap of faith and went all across the ocean to do something a lot of us would wish or dream about.
He's attending school in California for three months and i'm so proud of him...
Eventhough he's not here i still witness alot of things that he's doing by looking at his pictures and his hi-la-rious tweets.

I was talking to him this mornin and out of the conversation, one thing was clear to me.
He has a winners mentality and his mind set was put on sharp!
Offcourse he's having fun, laying passed out on the sofa and witnessing "tittie flashes" constantly but when it comes to serious business, he's literally on it.

His Quote: " We live in a world where the domestic majority is white" "So being black u need to take the advantage of staying true and G'd up and still being able to switch it up and show them u is schooled as a @#*!!"

I can't waith for him to come back..
Better bring my Chico Hoodie, though (LOL) <3

Ocean's #fail

One of my nicest discoveries in 2011 is Frank Ocean..

He's a very talented young brother with a lot of knowledge in his lyrics..
Hyped up by his hit "novacane" and more, i was craving for his show to take place in #amsterdam

My girl @Ms_Dani called me up yesterday, to confirm that he was actually coming and that i needed to check it out immediatly. Not even 5 minutes later she called me back with the dissapointing announcement that not only is he coming! His show was sold out within 2 and a half hours!..

I could not believe it, so i called the venue, Bitterzoet.
The man who was working there confirmed the fact with a big laughter (@ssh#le) and hung up one me, because i still was in shock.

So, Frank if you ever get the change to visit and actually read my blog before the 8th of November?
There are 2 girls in Amsterdam who are dying for tickets, to see you! (urgent message lol)

Droppin bombs on BANG!N #1

I love the fact that i'm surrounded by creative and most important TALENTED people. That keeps me strongly motivated and always on the positive side of life.

This week is in token off representing my people and therefore giving them their moment of fame (not that they don't have that already lol)

Last tuesday, i've witnessed a true legendary moment.

BANG!N radio, hosted by @4shobangerscom had it's first anniversary and offcourse my main man celebrated it in STYLE! The atmosphere was incredible and liqour was richely poured.
The host had big names appearing like Adonis (sloddervosgang), Rotjoch (101barz), Dret (Dret & Krullen), Innecent (F&F), Kalibwoy, Hydroboyz & Greengang!
All these artists got interviewed quickly and dropped some freestyles or new songs coming up ( you know where u heard those first!)

It was a defenit success wich was made clearly because a two hour session wasn't enough.

I gladly like to congratulate 4SHO on his success. This young man is, as what i call it, an example for/to all young'ns who have a dream! He had a dream, pursued it and is now livin (off) it.

With his radioshow he gave what AMSTERDAM craved for, what Amsterdam needed.. Screw that what (dutch) hip-hop needed!.. He created a platform for young, talented brothers and sisters with a voice. We thank you for that.
So herefore, i'll raise my glass and have a toast on you babe!
